Overview: Calacatta Betogli Extra is a marble quarried from a bedrock quarry in Italy. It is characterized by light grey veining in varying thicknesses. Thin gold veins and spots of pyrite adorn a creamy white background, making this marble a striking display of natural art. This quality of Calacatta Betogli Extra is less than 10% of the quarry output, making it extremely exclusive and difficult to get on a regular basis. As a softer stone, it may be susceptible to scratching or abrasion. During slab processing, a polyester resin is applied to the surface of the stone to fill in any small pits. It may be possible to have an oxidation vein on some slabs. Finally, a mesh backing is adhered to the stone.
