- Overview
- Arabescato Marble is quarried from a bedrock quarry in the Apuan mountains near Carrara, Italy. This white marble has a unique structure which shows large and small egg-shaped areas of white surrounded by light grey veins. Some slabs may have a slight amount of green or burgundy mixed in the grey veins. There are a few different types of Arabescato being quarried in the Apuan mountains, but this particular quarry supplies blocks which have the cleanest white background and the largest egg shaped crystals. Due to the qualities of the stone, the slabs are book-matched; meaning slab one and slab two will be cut and polished to create a mirror image of each other. These are then kept in sequence, which allows for a consistent flow in pattern.
